Transformative Student Voice (TSV) is a framework for designing and sustaining systemic opportunities for marginalized students to participate in social justice change in their schools and communities. Students inquire about the root causes of problems in their schools and take action to address them by working with adults to develop and implement better policies and practices. TSV aims for interesting benefits for students and their schools: when young people, particularly those most disadvantaged by inequity, develop and participate in efforts to improve their schools, not only do they benefit, but their schools get stronger — more developmentally and culturally responsive.
